The format property allows you to define how the date and time will appear. The possible formats are:

Short Date -- e.g. 12/31/95
Abbreviated Date -- e.g. Mon, Dec 31, 1995
Long Date-- e.g. Monday, December 31, 1995

Time -- e.g. 10:36 PM
Precise Time -- e.g. 10:36:54 PM

Both Date and Time -- e.g. 12/31/95 10:36
Expanded Date and Time -- e.g. Monday, December 31, 1995 10:36:54

Only the first letter of the format is required. All of the formats will respect the local date/time conventions.

If one of the short forms are specified, key entries will be restricted to only those which can appear in a valid date or time.
